Just saw that there’s a new movie coming out called Seeking a Friend for the End of the World. It’s about this guy who’s dealing with the fact that a 70-mile-wide asteroid is headed for Earth, and nobody can do anything about it. Is doomsday seriously on everybody’s mind these days or what?

It’s not just movies. There’s a boatload of people freaked out about the ancient Mayan prediction that the world will cease to exist in 2012 (although I’m pretty sure someone smart explained that the Mayans just didn’t invent numbers that went higher than 2012).

Oh, and don’t forget how scientists are operating a huge machine that crashes atoms into one another at practically the speed of light, which some folks are afraid might cause miniature black holes that will suck apart the planet (or something like that—my science skills are kinda rusty).

The scenarios get crazier and crazier. And the news crews can’t get enough—talk about waking up to a bunch of downers on TV every morning. So I’m giving you something totally random and hilarious and awesome to think about today instead.

That should keep us all in a good mood for awhile. What do you guys like to think about when the world has got you down?
